School's out for summer!

Well we survived another school year, took a deep breath and hit the ground with our feet running (literally) for the summer!

We were blessed to be able to take our family to Hawaii for
a family vacation. It was our first in 10 years.

On the beaufiful island of Kauai, we took a helicopter tour
and saw where many movies and TV shows were filmed.
We were amazed by the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and
some of us even managed to hang on to our breakfast.

We flew into Oahu with the excitement of being in one
of the most beautiful places on earth.

At Pearl Harbor, we toured the Arizona, Bowfin submarine and
the Battleship Missouri where the surrender of Japan was signed.
We are grateful for the sacrifice of so many to secure our
freedoms and for their families who sacrificed so much.

We were able to visit the Hawaiian Temple. It is still under
renovation. This is our 3rd visit to Hawaii
and we have yet to go inside. I guess we will just have
to keep trying. Note the flower behind Jolene's ear.
Right ear means available, left ear means she's taken.
We all took the opportunity to go to the
Polynesian Cultural Center.
The kids took out their frustrations of having to live with each other in the same place for 10 days!

We were sailing high parasailing over the Pacific Ocean.

This is Rachel and Jason. They announced their engagement while we were in Oahu!

It was such a blessing to have Brooke, Josh and their new son Grant join us. We had the privledge of joining with Josh in giving him a name and a blessing in Hawaii.

The black sands beach of the Big Island is unbelievable. We let the wave lap our toes and the clean air refresh our nose.

We loved the beaches, the scenery, the shops, the food, swimming,
and all the history. But most of all we loved having our family
there with us to enjoy their stories, drama, laughter and love.

Jacob and Elaina, Jason and Rachel, Alex and Elisabeth, Ben, Brooke, Josh and Grant, Jolene and Rod on the beach of Maui.

Mahalo!
